Good morning ladies and gentlemen,
today, I would like to introduce mybeloved hometown—Inner Mongolia to all of you. It has been 57 years since thebirth of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on May 1st, 1947. Dominated by theMongolian nationality, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is located on thenorthern frontier of China. The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region occupies anarea of 1.18 million square kilometers and has a population of about 20 millionpeople who represent a score of different nationalities. Every time when peopletalk about Inner Mongolia, they’ll come down to the vast grassland. Yes, theInner Mongolian prairie area makes up a quarter of the total grassland area ofthe country. On the boundless expanse of the Inner Mongolian prairie are livingnumerous sheep, Cattle and horses, on which our Mongolian have lived forgenerations. That is why the grassland is eulogized as “cradle of life”。 Thereare two vast grasslands in my hometown—Hulun Buir Grasslands and Xilin GolGrasslands which are both world-famous regions. People in Inner Mongolia arefamous for their bravery, enthusiasm and hospitality. No mater where you arefrom, as long as you come to a herdsman’s house, you will be warmly entertainedwith roasted whole lamb and milk tea, and what’s more, you can also appreciatebeautiful Mongolian songs and elegant dances. It is not exaggerating to sayMongolians are born singers and dancers. The moment you set your feet on thegrassland areas you will discover it is indeed a real land of songs anddances.
Today’s Inner Mongolia still maintains her ethnic characteristics and atthe dame time, she tries to keep pace with the development of the modern is a worldwide well-known brand, Yili and Mengniu are both the famousdairy industries, which have greatly improved the living standard of ourMongolian people. And I’m sure, our Mongolian people will make great effort tocontribute to our hometown. As a college student, I know quite clearly that mymission is to master solid knowledge and one day do good to my belovedhometown.

born in a big city, i never ever have a chance to the wild animals. but with this amazing tv program, i can see the various living beings from different places. it’s not only broaden our horizon, but also give us a lot of useful knowledge about animals and plants.

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.
My topic today is “Environment is my top concern”。 When talking about Environment, what’s the first thing that has come to your mind? Is it the Copenhagen climate change conference, or the Gulf Oil Spill, or the leak of toxic sludge in Hungary? Different people may have different answers.
Let’s check out how serious the environmental situation is in the world. Recent years have seen an increasing number of reports on the extinction of species, soil erosion as well as air pollution. The history of industrialization and urbanization has been a history of declining environmental quality. We may be satisfied with our so called modern life, but please do not turn a blind eye to what’s happened around us. Water is polluted. Animals are killed. Resources are devoured. And farmlands turn into desserts.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is the world we now live in. It’s not a wonderland. It’s not a safe haven. It’s a planet damaged by human beings and the situation is getting even worse. We need to change. We need to do something about it. We need to shoulder our responsibility. Otherwise, the end of world may come just as the film 20xx showed us. Now is the moment; Now is the time; Now is the only chance we can have to save our world.
Then you may ask “what can we do”? I have listed three answers to this question for all of you. Firstly, the governments should take a leading role in publicizing knowledge and raising people’s awareness. They are supposed to use economic and administrative leverage to monitor and regulate the environmental protection. Secondly, companies should raise their ability of independent innovation. They should encourage scientific and technological advances, and use new methods to reduce wastes and pollution. And thirdly, we people, as individuals, must take some actions. We should keep firmly in mind that every enormous change starts from the very first step.
Ladies and gentlemen, the earth is in our hands. Save it, or destroy it, it’s our choice. Our efforts will be powerful enough to save the world. If everyone, including you and me, is engaged in this world-saving project, environment will never ever be my top concern.
