The Grading Policy Of IELTS Writing Task2
Make sure your essay is readable. If your essay is easy to read, you can get better marks. The IELTS exam marks for the second writing test are dividedsintos3 categories:
First, answering the question accurately.
Second, cohesion and coherence.
Third, language appropriateness (grammar, spelling, register etc.). When you see this you understand the importance of spending time thinking about the meaning of the question(answering the question accurately) and organizing your ideas(coherence) before starting to write. Work on these aspects of writing dramatically improves the quality of an answer without even beginning to look at grammar, spelling and register. Therefore, you must keep your ideas simple as this will help with expressing and organizing what you want to say clearly.

1、register: (linguistics)range of vocabulary, grammar etc used by writers in professional contexts. (語(yǔ)言學(xué))語(yǔ)域，即指在專(zhuān)業(yè)領(lǐng)域中作者所使用的詞匯，可以理解為與題目相關(guān)領(lǐng)域的vocabulary。
2. cohesion: tendency to stick together.凝聚力，內(nèi)聚，可以理解為圍繞一個(gè)中心展開(kāi)討論，思路清晰，支持有力，不寫(xiě)與題目無(wú)關(guān)的東西。
3. coherence: being (of ideas, thoughts, speech, reasoning, etc) connected logically or consistently; easy to understand; clear.連貫性，一致性。可以理解為觀念、思想、言論、推理合乎邏輯；前后一致；讓人易懂。
考官改卷的過(guò)程一般是這樣的：
快速閱卷，并在有錯(cuò)誤的地方做記號(hào)(不修改)，除非在出現(xiàn)相互矛盾或復(fù)雜句型錯(cuò)誤或英語(yǔ)表達(dá)水平很好者而一定要找出不足的情況下才會(huì)在卷上留跡。閱完，首先從整體上來(lái)判斷是否離題，若離題，英語(yǔ)水平再高也只得4分；若偏題，偏一點(diǎn)的(這是很普遍的)那7分就基本上沒(méi)戲了，明顯偏的，最高得分為5分。其次，看段與段之間，每段中句與句之間的的cohesion and coherence(看上面注釋)。再次，才會(huì)考慮語(yǔ)法、拼寫(xiě)和詞匯。最后，考官給出分?jǐn)?shù)并寫(xiě)二、三句話的評(píng)語(yǔ)(現(xiàn)大部分用電腦打印好的評(píng)語(yǔ)往上貼----省時(shí))，所以這種評(píng)分標(biāo)準(zhǔn)就能解釋為什么有的高中生詞匯量非常有限卻能考6分甚至7分，而有的大學(xué)畢業(yè)生過(guò)了4級(jí)卻得5分甚至4分。這種評(píng)分標(biāo)準(zhǔn)也不是說(shuō)詞匯就不重要，而是要你學(xué)會(huì)一個(gè)，吃透一個(gè)，靈活應(yīng)用一個(gè)。拼寫(xiě)錯(cuò)誤屬小錯(cuò)，是累積扣分的。簡(jiǎn)單的語(yǔ)法錯(cuò)誤給考官的印象很不好，語(yǔ)法不好的人是很難拿6分的。由于寫(xiě)作是人在批改，免不了有個(gè)人因素在里頭，尤其在5分和6分的評(píng)定，但7分或以上的就沒(méi)有，還須重審，考官會(huì)反復(fù)檢閱后才給分。
