感恩節(jié)英文小故事

In china, people believe that, at the beginning, the tiger and the cat were friends, and the cat was much smarter than the tiger .

在中國，人們相信在很久以前貓和老虎是好朋友，而且貓比老虎聰明的多。

The cat learned the physical skills quickly, and the tiger was always behind.

貓學(xué)習(xí)動(dòng)作技巧很快，老虎卻總是落后。

Gradually, the tiger had to learn from the cat, and the cat was patient to teach the tiger.

漸漸的，老虎不得不向貓學(xué)習(xí)了，貓也很有耐心的教老虎。

Day after day, month after month, finally, the tiger could also run, jump, roll, grasp, tear, and strike as well as the cat.

日復(fù)一日，月復(fù)一月，老虎終于也可以像貓一樣，跑，跳，打滾，撲抓，撕咬，擊打。

One summer afternoon, the cat was taking a nap as the tiger sitting nearby.

Looking at the cat, the tiger suddenly thought, why should he keep befriending with such a small animal since he had already learnt all the skills from the cat?

老虎看著貓，忽然想到，既然自己已經(jīng)學(xué)會(huì)了貓的所有本領(lǐng)，為什么還要和這么小的動(dòng)物一直做朋友呢?

The evil tiger decided to kill the sleeping cat as a before dinner snack. The tiger stood up and approached the cat viciously.

邪惡的老虎決定殺死熟睡中的貓，當(dāng)作晚餐前的點(diǎn)心。

Just as this moment, the cat woke up. Opening up her eyes, the smart cat immediately realized what the tiger was trying to do and swiftly jumped onto a nearby tall tree and climbed to the top branch.

老虎站起來，邪惡的一步步靠近貓。就在這時(shí)，貓醒來了。聰明的她睜開眼睛立刻意識(shí)到老虎要干什么，于是立刻靈活的跳到了附近的大樹上，爬到樹頂。

The tiger thought he had already learned every skill from the cat .

老虎以為他已經(jīng)學(xué)到了貓的所有本領(lǐng)

But he never knew that the cat had hidden the tree climbing from him.

但他不知道貓還藏了一手爬樹的本事。

“I kept the last technique of the tree climbing from you just because I suspected you might be can ungrateful friend.”

“我沒有讓你學(xué)這最后一個(gè)爬樹的技巧，因?yàn)槲覒岩赡憧赡軙?huì)是個(gè)不知感恩的朋友�！�

The cat loudly told the tiger who watched under the tree helplessly.

貓高聲告訴樹下無奈的老虎。

The story goes that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face.

話說兩個(gè)好朋友正在穿越一個(gè)沙漠。途中他們忽然爭吵了起來，其中一個(gè)一巴掌扇在另外一個(gè)人的臉上。

The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, he wrote in the sand: "Today my best friend slapped me in the face."

被扇的那個(gè)人受了傷害，但他一句話也沒有說，只是在沙子上寫道：“今天我最要好的朋友打了我一個(gè)耳光�！�

They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him.

他們繼續(xù)走下去，后來發(fā)現(xiàn)了一片綠洲，他們于是決定洗個(gè)澡。先前被打的那個(gè)人這時(shí)不小心陷入了一個(gè)泥潭里面，差點(diǎn)被淹死了，幸運(yùn)的是他的朋友把他給救了出來。

After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: "Today my best friend saved my life."

他蘇醒過來后，立刻在一塊石頭上寫道：“今天我最要好的朋友救了我一命�！�

The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now you write on a stone. Why?"

扇過他耳光又救過他性命的朋友于是問他說：“我打了你之后你在沙子上寫字，而現(xiàn)在你卻在石頭上寫，為什么呢?”

The other friend replied: "When someone hurts us we should write it down in the sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in a stone where no wind can ever erase it."

寫字的那個(gè)人回答說：“當(dāng)我們被別人傷害了之后，我們應(yīng)該把它寫在沙子上，那樣，寬容的風(fēng)就很快就會(huì)將其抹去，但當(dāng)我們受到別人的幫助之后，我們必須將它刻在石頭上，那樣，風(fēng)就不會(huì)輕易把它磨滅。”
