商務(wù)聊天中會(huì)用到的運(yùn)動(dòng)術(shù)語

　　Closing a Deal 達(dá)成協(xié)議

　　(在紐約某處一家典型的辦公室)

　　Bob: Well, is Trevisos going to play ball or are we going to strike out on this deal?

　　Pete: The latest locker talk is that our game plan is a real contender for the contract.

　　鮑勃：這個(gè)生意Trevisos是打算跟我們合作了還是要把我們?nèi)�振出局了�?

　　皮特：據(jù)最新的小道消息說，我們的方案對(duì)這個(gè)合同很有競爭力。

　　play ball：baseball-play a game, idiom-do business with

　　play ball在棒球中表示打一場比賽的意思，短語的意思就是和……做生意

　　strike out：baseball-go out, idiom-fail

　　strike out在棒球中表示三振出局，也就意味著失敗了

　　locker talk：general sports-talk among the players, idiom-gossip, rumors

　　locker是鎖東西的柜子，locker room指的就是更衣間，在通常運(yùn)動(dòng)中，locker talk表示運(yùn)動(dòng)員之間的談話，更衣室內(nèi)的談話，于是也就有了流言、傳言、小道消息的意思。gossip這個(gè)詞相信看過《緋聞女孩》的朋友都很熟悉。

　　game plan：American football-plan which plays to make, idiom-plan of action

　　game plan在美式足球也就是橄欖球術(shù)語中表示球隊(duì)比賽的策略，短語的意思是行動(dòng)計(jì)劃、行動(dòng)方案。

　　Bob: Yeah, the other team has two strikes against it after they fumbled last week.

　　Pete: They had a great chance of scoring but I think Trevisos thought they weren't up to scratch on some of the details.

　　鮑勃：對(duì)，另外一組在上周犯了大錯(cuò)之后處境已經(jīng)很不利了。

　　皮特：他們本來有個(gè)大好的機(jī)會(huì)，但是我覺得Trevisos會(huì)認(rèn)為他們?cè)谝恍┘?xì)節(jié)問題上不太合格。

　　two strikes against it：baseball-one step from going out or loosing, idiom-close to not succeeding

　　棒球中表示兩擊不中，換句話說，再有一次失敗就要三振出局了，所以短語的意思就是離失敗很近了，處境不利、形勢不好的意思。

　　fumble：American football-lose possession of the ball, idiom-make a serious mistake

　　在橄欖球中表示漏球了，這可是很嚴(yán)重的錯(cuò)誤。

　　score：any sport-to make a point, idiom-to succeed

　　不管什么運(yùn)動(dòng)，score都是得分的意思，得分也就是成功了。
