一、試題形式
目前高考及其他階段各種采用的聽力測試題型主要為三種:短對話、短篇以及長對話。答題形式有兩種:多項選擇題(Multiple Choice)和填空題(Spot Dictation)。其中填空題有的空格要求考生聽懂長對話內(nèi)容,填其“意義”而不是細節(jié)性的具體單詞。
短對話只聽1遍;其他兩大題,各聽2遍,耗時約20—30分鐘。
二、應試技巧
聽短對話。考生在處理廣播調(diào)試聲音后,即可“掃描”短對話中的選項。據(jù)此展望第1個短對話可能出現(xiàn)的話題。
假如考生看到的是:
A. On March 2
B. On March 3
C. On March 5
D. On March 8
則考生可以判斷,第1題話題涉及3月的某一天;考生一聽見錄音第1題及問句,由于已有所知悉,立刻可做出正確選擇。
不要等到第一題念畢,問句提出后再去看四個選項。一般兩道聽力題(短對話)之間相隔6秒。如早早完成,即可提前思考第2題。
又如題干較長的題目:
A. They’d better not go riding.
B. Riding a bike is a great idea.
C. It’s not good riding in the rain.
D. They can go riding half an hour later.
考生在“掃描”時,預先知道該題涉及騎自行車;其中可能涉及騎車的時間,也可能是涉及一次具體的騎車活動。
這種“超前”瀏覽選項的本領(lǐng)可以培養(yǎng),有的考生可以提前“掃描”3~5題,并保留一定印象。
[注] 聽短對話時切忌走神。萬一走神,比如說第4題沒聽清楚,你的本能反應是想再聽,想回憶——但根本不可能,所以此刻只好猜題。猜題還有1/4的希望;反思的話,不巧把第5題也給漏掉!
聽短文。聽短文時要學會“記要”(taking notes)。記要有兩類,一是用符號記下關(guān)鍵信息(如數(shù)量大小、時間順序等);一是用具體文字記。這是因為短文耗時長,有人會“前聽后忘記”。另外一個決竅是“超前”瀏覽短篇的選項。如:
A. Why a company lost its customers.
B. Why a company went out of business.
C. How a company went from bad to worse.
D. How a company got out of its difficult situation.
考生一掃描就意識到該題指全文中心思想,并立即分辨出問題要么問理由(針對why), 要么講過程(針對how)。
聽長對話。聽長對話也應該有個“超前”掃描,先對對話話題有個印象。在對話進行時要注意“細節(jié)”(detail)和“關(guān)鍵詞” (key words),必要時也得作“記要”:用鉛筆,在邊(test paper margin)記一下。Taking notes的技巧可以從《英語(新世紀版)》年級的課本中去找。
三、訓練
聽力水平的`提高有兩種方法:
(一)不斷地“聽”模擬試題。隔天一聽,每周兩聽,等等。從當年9月起聽到次年5月;用過的試卷達40~50套。這種應試訓練要注意:
1. 每次訓練宜一氣呵成。高考聽力是一氣呵成,中間無間歇的。
2. 每次訓練要嘗試“超前”技巧。
3. 聽完,對好答案,要反思,查一查自己丟分的道理,查一查自己的“軟肋”。
。ǘ┳セ竟Α_x擇材料,聽取“意群”(sense group),聽“連讀”(liaison),聽“重讀”(stressed words)以及“略讀”(reduction)。為什么?因為目前高考聽力并不采用“真實語言材料”(authentic material)。在真實生活中的對話,處處用到上述4種口語“技巧”。一般速度快,句子短或者不完整。所以從長遠看,要真正提高聽力水平,應從基本功開始,在迎接高考之初,第二種準備方法為時不晚,關(guān)鍵是勤奮。
四、材料信息
關(guān)于聽力模擬試卷,建議選用專業(yè)出版社的產(chǎn)品,如上海外語出版社。
關(guān)于聽力基本功訓練,建議選用《英語(新世紀版)聽力》(上海外語教育出版社)。該書1~3冊,每單元后都有Mechanic Skills的專項訓練,附有“意群”、“連讀”、“重讀”及“略讀”的實例。
另外,如考生有條件,進口教材中有許多精彩的聽力訓練材料可選用,如:Longman出版的Impact Listening 1~3,配有CD。 至于書市上流行的VOA, BBC及CNN的各種CD,可以選用一些,但必須由精選。
聽力材料話題一定要廣泛,話題要符合《課程標準》中提及的項目。
五、注意事項
生詞的拼寫及朗讀也應同步展開。單詞讀音不準,聽力的準確性受損;單詞的拼寫不準,即便聽懂了的也寫不出來。
